  • 24 Hours of Daytona!

    January 23, 2009

Well it has come time for the world renound Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.  I began my journey down for the race Wednesday afternoon around 2pm when I left my apartment and headed down 95 South towards Florida.  Then 3 pit stops and 742 miles later I arrived at 1am at my buddy Eric's place in Orlando.  Slept a few hours and was up and at the track getting credientials at 9:30 Thursday morning.

Unfortunately this year, I am not racing due to a lack of sponsorship funds but most definetly not from a lack of effort!  So for 2009, I am only here as a spectator and to roam the pits in search of that team in need of an extra driver or replacement.  Lots of familiar faces and long time friends roam the pits and it is always good to catch up with them which I why I love being at the races even when I am not racing!  It never seems to amaze me how racing gets my blood churning and the itch to drive nearly drives me insane!

Yesterday was qualifying for all the classes and a pretty interesting one at that with the #6 Micheal Shank car driven by long time friend Micheal Valiente who was my favorite for the pole feel short leaving the door open for the #58 of David Donohue to step into pole position.  The GT class was an emotional one with the #70 of Sylvain Trembley putting the car to pole on the very last lap.

Today is more practice and the Koni challenge so I will bring an update this evening!

    Thank for all the support,

    Seth
